Chiropractic Care for the Way You Move
Individualized care for pain, injury, mobility, and everyday movement
Chiropractic care focuses on the relationship between your joints, muscles, and movement. At Blaine Chiropractic and Massage, our chiropractors use hands-on care and a variety of techniques to address back and neck pain, joint discomfort, injuries, stiffness, and mobility concerns.
Your care starts with understanding what's bothering you and how it's affecting your everyday life. From there, we'll recommend an approach based on your individual needs, goals, and examination findings.
Chiropractic Care That Fits You
No two patients come to us with exactly the same needs. Our chiropractors use a variety of techniques and adjust their approach based on your condition, comfort, mobility, and treatment goals.
Our chiropractic techniques may include Diversified, Thompson Drop-Table, Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT), and Activator Methods. Care may also include evaluation and treatment of joints outside the spine—such as the ribs, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles, and feet—when appropriate.
Whether you're coming in with a new injury, recurring discomfort, or limitations that are getting in the way of everyday activities, we'll work with you to find an approach that makes sense for you.
What Brings Patients to a Chiropractor?
People seek chiropractic care for many different reasons. Sometimes it's a new injury or sudden pain. Other times, it's a problem that has gradually started interfering with work, sleep, exercise, or everyday activities.
Common concerns we see include:
- Back and neck pain
- Headaches associated with neck tension or joint dysfunction
- Stiffness or restricted movement
- Joint and extremity discomfort
- Muscle tension and related musculoskeletal pain
- Auto accident and other injuries
- Changes in mobility or function
You don't need to know exactly what's causing the problem before making an appointment. We'll listen to what's been happening, examine the areas of concern, and discuss whether chiropractic care is appropriate for your needs.
It's About More Than Where It Hurts
Pain doesn't always tell the whole story. How your joints move, how different areas of your body work together, and the effects of stress, daily activities, and physical demands can all be important when evaluating a musculoskeletal concern.
Our chiropractors look beyond the location of your symptoms to consider movement, joint function, mobility, and other factors that may be contributing to the problem. Depending on your needs, care may include chiropractic adjustments, soft-tissue techniques, therapeutic exercise, or other supportive therapies available in our office to help you move and function more comfortably, now and down the road.
Extremity adjusting
Chiropractic care isn't limited to the spine. Our chiropractors also evaluate and treat joints outside the spine when appropriate, including the ribs, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, hips, knees, ankles, and feet.
Although the ribs and hips are closely connected to the spine and pelvis, they are considered separate areas when it comes to chiropractic treatment and insurance billing.
Extremity care may be considered when joint pain, stiffness, restricted movement, or an injury is affecting the way you move and function. That might include concerns involving a painful wrist or elbow, knee or ankle discomfort, shoulder movement, or foot-related problems.
When extremity adjusting is recommended in addition to spinal care, we'll explain what's being treated and any applicable insurance or self-pay considerations.
Low-Level Laser Therapy
Low-level laser therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light applied to targeted areas of the body. Our office uses Erchonia low-level laser technology as a supportive option for certain musculoskeletal concerns and injuries.
Laser therapy may be considered as a supportive option for musculoskeletal concerns involving pain, inflammation, or soft-tissue irritation and can be used alongside chiropractic care or, when appropriate, as a stand-alone service. Treatment is comfortable, requires no injections or medications, and can be applied to many areas of the body.
Not sure whether low-level laser therapy makes sense for your concern? Ask one of our chiropractors. We'll help determine whether it may be an appropriate addition to your care.
Support Between Visits
What you do at home can make a difference in managing everyday aches, stiffness, and activity between appointments. We keep a selection of products and simple self-care tools available in our office for patients looking for additional at-home support.
Our selection includes nutritional supplements focused on musculoskeletal health and a healthy inflammatory response, topical pain-relief products, and home-care tools for comfort, mobility, and everyday self-care. If you're not sure what's appropriate for you, ask us. We're happy to help you find an option that fits your needs.
